Sneezing is an important part of our body’s defense
mechanism. Through this process, the body removes an irritation from the nose,
caused by intake of any foreign object through breathing. When we breathe, the
foreign particles enter our nose. Sensors present inside the nose detect these
foreign objects. They further signal the cilia, which are hair like paddles
lining our nostrils and sinuses, to create a movement to expel the foreign
bodies. The burst of air produced by sneeze clears all the nasal passageways
expelling the irritants out of the nose. The nose is often underestimated in the
efforts of taking care of our body’s health. The common irritants causing the
sneeze include dust, cold air or pepper. People allergic to some other objects
might also trigger sneezing. Whenever any of these objects tries to attack the
system while entering through the nostrils, the sneeze system comes into play
and saves us from many germs and bacteria who could have made a permanent home in
the moist area inside our nostrils. The system really helps keep the body

have known before.
- We always close our eyes while sneezing. This act and involuntary and we are unable to keep our eye open while sneezing. This proves it is good to close the eyes while sneezing.
- Sneezing is an important part of our immune system that helps to keep us healthy and sniffle-free.
- For one out of every three people, sneezing can trigger when they are exposed to bright light or sunlight. They are called photic sneezers. This is an inherited trait and is transferred from parents to children.
- If you face a feeling that you are about you sneeze but it just gets stuck, try looking towards a bright light briefly. That would unstuck your sneeze and you will be relieved.
- Sneezes are quite speedy. A sneeze travels at about 100 miles per hour. A single sneeze can send 100,000 germs into the air.
- Plucking your eyebrows may cause you sneeze. A nerve in the face is affected by plucking eyebrows that can trigger sneeze.
- During our sleep, our sneezing system is also dormant, so we do not sneeze during our sleep.
- You can start sneezing in a workout. During exercise, body lose water in sweating. As a result, mouth and nose get dry. The nose reacts to this by dripping. This can cause you sneeze.
- You can try to stop your sneeze by breathing through the mouth while pinching the end of your nose but this is not guaranteed to work always.
To sum up, sneezing is often considered a minor activity and
of no value. Now we know it has great benefits for our healthy and body. Nature
has created nothing in vain and this is one example. Certain things might be
minute in existence but they do have their benefits for us.
