Is Time really moving fast these days?

is time really moving fast
We often hear people asking to finish up things quickly because the time left is very short and there are many things yet to be done. I often wonder how this can happen that we have more work to do but we are all short of time. I remember well my childhood when the days used to be too long. We did a lot of things during the whole day even then it didn’t end. We used to sleep during noon, mostly for the time to pass. Things seem changed these days. As soon as we get up early in the morning, a series of activities starts and continues till evening. We are so much absorbed in these activities that we seldom realize that the whole day has passed. Evening comes and then the night and one cycle is completed. It goes on the same way next day and again the next one. Days are continuously turning into weeks, weeks into months and years. It looks like the world clock has gained much speed in this era of ours. It passes so quickly that we often wonder how fast the time is moving. Not only our own time zones, but throughout the world, the situation seems identical.

A Comparison
When we visit a town where the latest technology has not reached completely, we find things quite opposite there. We engage in many things throughout the day even then the day does not end and we still have time left. This feels quite strange. When we try to analyze this situation, the common reasons for this difference are:
In villages and town, life is slow and simple. There is not much to be engaged in. As the latest technology has not reached there completely, people are quite simple and straightforward. They are only involved in their routine activities, which are very simple and limited. After that, people have plenty of time left to relax and enjoy the life.
Compared to that, life in urban areas is quite busy. People have a lot to do and they can engage in many activities after they are done with their daily work. This keeps them busy and they believe that time is too short and is passing quickly. Whenever we are free, we switch on television screens and watch our favorite movies, or start playing video games. Internet is a great revolution and it has made much changes to our lives. A trend to outdoor games has decreased while those with indoor games, chatting online, and other activities involving internet is increasing. Thus even if we are free, we are actually not and are doing something at all times of the day. Technology has played its role and is still doing that. This situation would increase with further development. People would be more involved in multiple activities doing multitasking exactly as computers do these days.

Conclusion
To conclude, we can say, it is not the time that has started moving faster, but the activities we have added to different time slots of our daily routine that has made us believe that time is short and we have a lot to do. If we schedule our activities and keep a balance between them and available time, I believe we would be in a better position to enjoy the time we are left with. People in villages and towns do the same thing. They have comparatively lesser things to do and consequently they enjoy the days and nights of their life well, more than those living in cities do. With better time management, we would be able to do the same despite living in cities.
